SPORTS AND ADVENTURE IN ITBP

SPORTS AND ADVENTURE IN  ITBP:-

 ITBP is committed to the development of Sports and Adventure activities in the nation and contributes to the nation’s achievements in international achievements. A total of 29 teams of different games and sports are maintained at the force at the Central Level which consists of professional players who represent ITBP, All India Police Sports Control Board and the Nation in various events.      

Games and Sports play a vital role in the overall development of the personality of an individual. Besides being a great stress reliever games provide an excellent opportunity for personnel to closely interact with each other socially and professionally thus fostering/developing the spirit o camaraderie among them.

Aim of Sports and Adventure activities in the Force:-

1) Provide a platform for young athletes to hone their talent and skills

2) Provide Job opportunities to meritorious Sports persons.

3) To give achievement-based career progression/promotion in the service

4) Produce medal winners at the International level

5) To make CAPF the best in the field of sports


ACHIEVEMENTS

ACHIEVEMENTS:-

In the years 2020, 2021 and 2022(till date) a total of 09 players of ITBP have represented the Nation in different sports competitions. Out of these 09, 08 players won medals for the nation. In Boxing Boxer Manisha and Parveen of ITPP won the Bronze medal each in the world Boxing Championship in their respective weight category in Turkey in May 2022. Manisha also won 01 Gold Medal in Colonge Boxing World Cup in Germany in Dec 2020 and 01 Bronze medal in Open International Boxing Championship in Thailand w.e.f 01 to 10th April 2022. Boxer Meenakshi too won the Bronze medal in the same competition in Thailand. In a wrestling event Wrestler, Srishti won a Silver medal in international Wrestling Tournaments in Bulgaria in Feb 2022. In Wushu Player Sanyogita, Priyanka and Tushar won Gold, Gold and Bronze medal each in Moscow Wushu Star Championship in Feb 2022. Archer Neeraj Chauhan and Climber (Para) Bimal Biswas participated in international Events in their disciplines.

In national-level games, the ITBP from the year 2020 to 2022 till date won 42 gold, 32 silver and 36 bronze medals. Players from ITBP representing AIPSCB and affiliated associations and federations are National Champion in Equestrian, Wushu, Boxing, Archery, Rowing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Boxing and Ski. The Ice Hockey team of ITBP representing the AIPSCB recently won the 09th Edition of the Ice Hockey national competition and is presently the national champion in the game.

Games and Sports not only inculcate team spirit but also bring pride and glory to the Force. To improve the standard of Sports in the Force, due and timely recognition of outstanding sportsperson(s) would encourage them to perform better in future. To boost the morale of Sportspersons cash reward and DG’s Insignia as per the sporting events awarded to the players.

Sportspersons of the Force participated in various International, National and All India Police Games/Duty Meet i.e. Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and thus securing medals bought laurels to the Country and the Force, following are the performances of the Central Sports teams of the Force in International, National and AIPG/Duty Meet:-
