ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES:-

As far as adventure activities are concerned the force has always been a flagbearer in the same. In the years 202-2022 the force conducted 02 International and a total of 23 national/force level expeditions. Apart from mountaineering, The expeditions were conducted in Cycling, Water rafting and Tracking discipline.

The Force has always been a pioneer in Mountaineering Adventure activities. To date, 221 mountaineering expeditions have been organized by the force out of which 13 have been for peaks with heights of 8000 meters and more. The Force has scaled the world’s highest peak- Mount Everest 04 times in the years 1992, 1996, 2006 and 2012. In recognition of outstanding contribution in the field of mountaineering, 13 ITBP Mountaineers have been awarded Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award and 07 ITBP Mountaineers have been awarded Padmshree by the Govt of India.“

 ITBP has a long-standing tradition of fostering the spirit of adventure among all ranks and its men have been the pioneers in adventure activities. ITBP has excelled in the field of mountaineering and adventurous sports like skiing, Ice Hockey and river rafting. The mountaineers have scaled the most arduous and the highest peak of the world “The Majestic Mount Everest” many times. It is because of these formidable achievements that ITBP mountaineers have been awarded Padma Shri and Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards.
