Indo Tibetan Border Police welcomes all Indian Nationals to participate in the ITBP Half Marathon -Run for the Nation which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 07th Oct, 2012. It will be a good occasion to make a strong and passionate pitch for our Love for India by ensuring maximum participation in this marathon.

The Half Marathon race is being organised at 0630 hr. on 07th OCT, 2012. It will start from the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium covering important places enroute like Lodhi Garden, India Gate ,Rajpath and will end at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium.

The ITBP was raised on 24th October 1962. This highly acclaimed elite border- guarding Force is considered as one of the best Mountain Force in the world. The Force mans border outposts along the 3488 km Indo-China border in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh, right from Karakoram Pass to Jachep La at altitudes ranging from 9000 to 18,700 feet.

The Force has completed 50 years of its dedicated service to the Nation. It is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year w.e.f. 24th October, 2011.

As part of Golden Jubilee celebrations , ITBP launched a special  expedition to   Mt. Everest on   15th April 2012 which Summitted Mount Everest on 19th May. This is the 4th time that ITBPeans climbed Mt. Everest. This expedition was unique as the climbers also Skied-down from the Mount Everest . No expedition team has ever achieved this feat.

Through this Half Marathon race, the ITBP aims not only to cultivate a sense of patriotism and general awareness about this Force but also inspire youth to join it. It also aims to boost the morale of our Jawans serving at the most inhospitable and snow covered terrains of Himalayan features ranging from the heights 9,000 ft to 18,700 ft where temperature dips to -40 degree Celcius.

Senior Politicians,young Parliamentarians, noted film personalities and sports persons, eminent literary figures, painters and media persons have been invited for participating in the race.

Registration for Half Marathon:

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

a)Identity proof /ID proof (Such as Voter ID card, I-Card issued from the Employer and driving license etc...)

b) Age proof certificate.

LAST DATE :-

Filled forms must reach the ITBP Marathon Directorate by 01-Oct-2012 at 1800 hrs.

Please note :-

Entry form should be filled in all respect. All Half Marathon runners are required to collect their running number (BIB) personally from the authority on 03rd Oct to 05th Oct 2012 from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs. at Special Booths at JawaharLal Nehru Stadium , New Delhi -3. Where a runner is unable to come personally due to some unavoidable circumstances, he/she can authorize an individual to collect the bib on his/her behalf. However, representative will be allowed to collect the bib on behalf of ONLY A SINGLE half marathon runner.

Attestation :

For Student: Head of Institute or Head of Sport Department/ Other Office bearer/ officer of the sports association or sports body.
